"Smack!"

The clear slap echoed in the quiet room, followed by an acidic voice.

"You shameless homewrecker, don't think you can seduce my man just because you have some looks. Let me tell you, as long as I'm alive, you can forget about taking my place as the wife!"

Yun Xi held her cheek, her eyes filled with desolation as she looked at the silent man nearby. Shortly after, she shifted her gaze toward the fierce woman before her, eyes brimming with resentment.

"Shameless!"

The woman raised her hand again, delivering yet another slap.

"Cut!" the director off-stage shouted. He then bowed to the lead actress, saying respectfully, "Miss Qin, the scene is over. Take a brief rest, and we can start filming the next scene."

Seeing that no one paid her any attention, Yun Xi touched her burning cheek and walked off to the restroom. She gazed at her swollen cheek in the mirror and sighed quietly.

I inadvertently bumped into Miss Qin earlier and didn't expect this form of retribution. The slaps were undeniably forceful. She quickly applied some foundation to cover up the swollen marks, but the imprints of five fingers were still visible.

Since she didn't have any more scenes, Yun Xi grabbed her belongings and left the filming set.

As soon as she stepped out of the room, Yun Xi felt lost.

This was the most luxurious hotel in Yun An City, the filming team was allowed to shoot three days of "affair exposure" scenes here due to Miss Qin's influence.

After wandering around the floor for a while, she spotted the elevator. As she approached it, she felt something tightly clutching her leg. Looking down, Yun Xi saw a five-year-old boy tightly hugging her thigh.

The little boy looked up at her, his chubby face resembling a bun. His big beautiful eyes gradually misted over, as if he was about to cry.

"Little friend, what's wrong?" Noticing the adorable expression in his little eyes, Yun Xi felt her heart melting.

"I..."

As Little Bun was about to speak, a rough male voice came from the other side of the hallway, causing him to tremble uncontrollably.

"I just told you to take a bath, and you dare to run away!" The man cursed as he walked towards them. He grabbed Little Bun's arm and said, "Hurry up and go back with me to take a bath!"

Little Bun held onto Yun Xi's leg even tighter, refusing to let go.

"I don't know you! You're a bad guy!" Little Bun was no match for the man and he soon let go of Yun Xi. His little legs were kicking in the air, as he reached out to Yun Xi, crying, "Mommy, Mommy save me..."

Yun Xi felt something was off. Seeing that the man had no mercy for the child and his clothes were much cheaper than Little Bun's, she had a sinking feeling in her heart. Could he be a child trafficker?

With a rush of courage, she stepped forward and picked up Little Bun.

"What are you doing?!" The man roared when he saw someone was taking the child, "He is my son!"

Little Bun threw himself into Yun Xi's arms, holding onto her neck tightly and trembling incessantly, causing Yun Xi to feel a pang of pain in her heart.

"Your son?!" Yun Xi squinted her eyes and retorted confidently, "How absurd, since when did my husband become yours!"

The man was taken aback, his eyes flashing hostility as he said, "Mind your own business, or you're finished too!"

Yun Xi quickly turned around and ran with Little Bun. The man, momentarily stunned, swiftly gave chase.

Women are not as physically strong as men, especially when they're carrying a child.

Yun Xi was soon cornered by the man.

"Run, let's see how far you can go!"

"Little Bun, when you find the right chance, run away, you hear me?"

Yun Xi, regardless of whether Little Bun understood or not, put the small bundle from her arms down, shielding it behind herself.

"Run? Ha, you two can't run!" The man reveals a menacing grin, "I bumped into this little thing by accident. My original plan was to scoop up an easy fortune, but I didn't expect it to be wasted on such a beautiful woman."

Yun Xi's face turns dark. She bunches her hand into a fist and fiercely strikes at the man's face. In one smooth motion, she kicks him down below. All she sees is him covering his lower body with both hands, his eyes bulging out, looking extremely uncomfortable.

She quickly turns around and pulls the stunned Little Bun to quickly escape. Just as they turned a corner, they ran straight into a solid wall of flesh that sent her staggering backward.

Assuming she had come across a fellow partner of the human trafficker, when she looked up, she was stunned to realize that the world could, in fact, present such a handsome man.

Short black hair and hawk-like sharp cold eyes that were deep and profound under the light, as if one would be drawn in deeply by just an extra glance, gradually sinking into the whirlpool of his pupils.

Just like a perfectly sculpted handsome face, exquisite features free of flaws, as if he'd just stepped out of a painting.

Did she hit her head? Why did she feel like this man's handsomeness was unreal, dreamlike?

Were it not for the high-ranking aura he exuded, she would have really thought that she was dreaming.

"You wretch, don't run!" The man quickly catches up, not expecting an extra man to appear.
